REDLANDS, Calif. — Families looking for a cultural community event after Halloween can visit a Día de los Muertos celebration planned for Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Smiley Park near the A.K. Smiley Public Library.
What’s planned
According to the City of Redlands’ October 20 announcement, the celebration will feature a Catrina/Calavera costume contest for children ages 4 through 12, live Mariachi Bohemia music and a performance by St. Mary’s Ballet Folklorico. Mexican food and ice cream were also listed as free while supplies last.
The holiday is a tradition of remembrance and celebration of loved ones who have died. The city announcement references ofrendas, or memorial altars, among the event’s cultural elements.
