REDLANDS, Calif. — A portion of West Olive Avenue is scheduled to close to vehicles on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31, as the city prepares for crowds of families walking in the neighborhood.
Street closure from 5 to 9 p.m.
The City of Redlands’ official event page says West Olive Avenue between Center Street and Cajon Street will close to vehicular traffic from 5 to 9 p.m. The city says the restriction is intended to reduce conflicts between pedestrians, trick-or-treaters and cars.
Redlands is explicit that Olive Avenue is not a city-hosted Halloween event. Its official 2026 Plane-or-Treat celebration took place separately at Redlands Municipal Airport on October 25. Local families have long visited Olive Avenue independently on Halloween night.
What drivers and families should know
Drivers should use alternate streets and obey closure signs. Families should exercise caution at nearby intersections, supervise children and avoid blocking emergency access, driveways or accessible sidewalks. People who live inside the affected block may need to plan entry and parking before the closure begins.
Visit the city event and traffic information page for any last-minute changes. Published hours are the scheduled period, not a guarantee that every barricade will be removed at an exact moment.
